The story of this website

I didn't always have a website. I first had a carrd account to simply sell my art commissions. It was simple to use, but I could only put 50 elements because if you put more then oh woah you gotta pay for premium! It felt like I had little to do and was limited, and I also couldn't afford it so I had to do good with what I had. My site originally looked something like this. Obviously in more vibrant colours, but I compressed it to death.

I got tired of looking at it not even a month after. So I went exploring, looking for other reputable site makers: Wix, GoDaddy, SquareSpace, WordPress, Blogspot, Canva? and then Neocities...! I actually originally heard it from YouTube or somewhere but I wanted to try it out since I think the fact that you can make WHATEVER you want and the premium is optional I was like hell yeah creative freedom

The thing is, I thought Neocities was the typical "drag and drop" element website. But I was met surprise when I saw I had to code. It was even better because I always wanted to learn how to code someday! So I started with a struggle. Everything was breaking, the css was a mess and and I couldn't set a background without crying inside. I still remember that. But I didn't give up. I'm not really the kind to give up, anyways. I spend that summer holed up in my room coding. I'm honestly glad I did. With enough hard work, effort and resourses, my site started transforming into one I truly love now which is awesome!!!

I guess the story is over, but the effect it had on me isn't. How do explain? I just started seeing sites differently. I started truly appreciating layouts and web designing more than usual and mentally analyzed webs on how it was truly made. I mean looking at a website and thinking "Oh wow, that's alot of flex boxes" or something like that. You know what I mean? I mean it gave me a new perspective and it also made me understand how to sorta code too which is a win.

SO YEAH... If you want to make a website, please do it it's super fun!!!
